A snapshot of my favourite views from this fabulous new fashion exhibition in London.

If you love fashion history and being able to see, up close, the extraordinary detailed intricacy and craftsmanship of the elaborate fabrics and styling of these incredible tiny, waisted stunningly beautiful dresses from the past - then this exhibition is one for you.
.
"Understated" waa certainly never a word in Marie Antoinette's fashion vocabulary or in that of her court - the concept was certainly "more is more" - whether it was hair, accessories or the embellishment.

It's difficult to understand how any of the ladies from this era ever managed to comfortably sit down, eat, or even breathe in any of these dresses. Each and every one is a wearable work of art.

The pleated beige skirt (with its own fabric belt) is past season @zara

Styling an outfit with a statement leather belt instantly creates a more expensive look. The belt is vintage and has been in my wardrobe for years.

The beige loafers are at least 5 years old, bought on sale on the Kings Road Chelsea.

Brown (a big autumn trend colour) platform heels are a very old past purchase @zara

The brown vintage handbag was my mother's from 1950s
