Brand new invisible Elastoplast and eyelash extensions

At the brand new "Elastoplast Invisible protection" launch at Sketch, I , together with a group of female beauty journalists, watched 2 very buff male models modelling wearing only Calvin Klein underpants and Elastoplast Invisible plasters.

You might say that I have such a tough job, but it was VERY difficult to spot the number of invisible plasters stuck on various parts of their bodies, (which was what we'd been asked to do!. Especially with one eye open and the other closed as I was simultaneously having Express "Blink & Go" eyelash extensions applied as one of the beauty treats offered at the event.

I did fail to correctly spot the exact number of the invisible plasters, they really were difficult to see! They're great for girly emergencies. But I did leave the launch with a new set of "Blink & Go" lashes, applied expertly by Sherry Bennett of Eyewishuk.com

Revlon makeup

I road-tested the new Revlon Photo Ready foundation makeup, whilst filming for Channel 5 TV. I loved the foundation. It was smooth and even to apply and lasted well, even though it was very hot where we were filming. It gave a professional airbrushed effect and also had light reflective qualities which is great for older skin like mine!
I also tried out the Revlon Colour Twist mascara and the Revlon colour Stay liquid eyeliner. The mascara had a lovely chunky brush and the eyeliner was so easy to use to achieve a great 50's style eyeline as the eyeliner applicator was stiff and similar to using a pen.

Loved all the products!

NIcki Clarke new straightening irons

I was sent a set of the brand new Nicky Clarke Straighteners to try out on my clients. These irons are by strange coincidence exactly the same deep red colour as my SONY VAIO laptop from which I present my "Discover the New You" makeover masterclasses.

This deep metallic red is my own branding colour - so already I am loving the straighteners. As a stylist, it's cool when everything coordinates and looks wonderful together!

They do have a very classy and expensive look and performed well, with a switch to more efficiently straighten fine or thick hair and a super-fast heat-up. Apparently the recommended retail price is ?89.99. They could be the new competition to GHD's.......

How lovely it is to be pampered occasionally with beauty treatments in your comfort of your own home!
After a stressful week and a drive from London down to my cottage in the Isle of Wight I road-tested Sarah, a visiting beauty therapist from "RELAX".
I had an hour and half massage which was completely blissful. I do remember thinking that Sarah was a very good therapist in between drifting in and out of a completely relaxed dozey state.

I would recommend Sarah for your massages and beauty treatments when you're down on the Island and you fancy a girls- night-in being pampered.

Roc launched a special free skincare analysis for women at their pop-up anti-ageing boutique, La Dermacie de RoC® last week so I went along prior to the opening to see how my skin was faring. Actually it seemed that my skin was doing quite well, when I looked at my results. QMS medicosmetics- the launch of an exciting new skincare range

Breakfast meetings and new product launches are always an interesting start to the day, and yesterday I breakfasted in Selfridges personal shopping private dining room at the launch of the new QMS "medicosmetics" skin care treatment range that claims to help repair and rejuvenate skin. These products with special formulas help collagen penetrate the skin. This German brand is created by Dr Eric Schulte, who was a reconstructive plastic surgeon for severe facial and burn wound victims. His range of products, from the photographs shown, can perform miracles in the 120 days that it takes for skin to rejuvenate and repair itself (apparently our skin repair system works in 40 day cycles and after three of these cycles we will see optimum effects). So I am looking forward to my newly youthful renaissance in 120 days and will keep this blog updated on my progress. The range launches exclusively in Selfridges on the 20th August and Dr Schulte will even be on hand to answer your queries.

I found that this product really does work. I am always looking for non-steroid creams to recommend to my clients and this is my latest find. I usually recommend Rosa Mosqueta (rose-hip) oil to help eczema and dry skin conditions, but this cardiospermum gel is brilliant and the cardiospermum cream actually contains the rosa mosqueta too.
